How Allah Brought the Universe to Life-Part 2

If we look at God’s creation we will find an extraordinary beauty. A beauty and majesty that shows the greatness of the One who created it. The order, harmony, and beauty of the universe show the existence of the Almighty and All-Wise One. The sky with all its decorations. The earth with oceans and rivers flowing in it. Mountains that are so sturdy towering high. Animals and plants with various types. Everything was created so beautifully. An extraordinary work of the Creator.

Thinking and thinking about God’s creation will increase our faith in God Almighty. That is why Allah ta’ala calls man to always contemplate on  his creation

(Quran 29:20) Say, “Travel on the earth and find out how He originated creation. And how afterward, Allah brings forth entirely new forms. Verily, Allah is the Designer of all things.” .

EVOLUTION OF UNIVERSE

The evolution of the universe took 6 different stages, and the earth and other planets and stars were developed in 2 stages.

Life was developed in 4 stages. So together, it took 6 stages to result in evolved life. These stages don’t refer to time stages, but to different phases of evolution of the universe and its life in it, each needing its own step with its own timespan. The biggest mistake people make is looking at the stages as if they occur with each taking the exact same time. So let’s see what the Quran tells us more.

(Quran 41:9) Say: “Do you verily disbelieve in Him Who created the earth in two Days? And you set up rivals with Him? That is the Lord of all that exists.

(note that the Arabic word for “days” (Yaum) also means “periods”)

Firstly when it shot away like a fiery ball from the Cosmic matter

Secondly, when it cooled off sufficiently to become habitable.

HOW OLD IS OUR EARTH?

The age of the Earth is estimated to be about 4.54 billion years. This estimate is based on radiometric age dating of the oldest rocks on Earth and meteorites, as well as the ages of the Moon rocks, cosmic microwave background radiation, the expansion rate of the universe, and the study of the oldest star clusters.

The universe is estimated to be about 13.8 billion years old. In comparison, the Earth is estimated to be about 4.54 billion years old. To understand the age of the Earth in relation to the age of the universe, we can perform a simple calculation.

By dividing the age of the Earth by the age of the universe (4.54 billion years divided by 13.8 billion years), we find that the Earth is approximately 32.9% as old as the universe. This means that if we consider the entire age of the universe as 100%, the Earth formed roughly one-third(1/3rd)  of the way through the universe’s history.

There have been six phases of cosmic existence. Furthermore, of the six periods of existence, Earth (which is contained in the cosmos) has existed for two. Accordingly, the Earth is 2/6th (1/3rd) of the universe’s age.Subhan allah!

( Quran 41:10) He placed therein firm mountains from above it, and He blessed it, and measured therein its(creatures) sustenance in four Days equal(without distinction) for all those who ask.

This is also supported by the following report: Sa‘eed ibn Jubayr may Allaah have mercy upon him reported that a man came to Ibn ‘Abbaas, may Allaah  be pleased with him, saying, “I find some things in the Quran which confuse me.” Ibn ‘Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with him said, “Tell me what is confusing you.” The man said, “Allaah, The Exalted, says (what means):

Are you a more difficult creation or is heaven? Allah constructed it. He raised its ceiling and proportioned it. And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness. And after that He spread the earth. He extracted from it its water and its pasture [Quran 79:27-31]

So, Allaah, mentioned the creation of the heavens before the earth. Then, in other verses He says (what means):

Say, “Do you indeed disbelieve in He who created the earth in two days  [Quran 41:9] He made mention of the creation of the earth before the creation of the heavens

Ibn ‘Abbas may Allaah be pleased with him replied, “Allah created the earth in two days, then He created the heaven and it was like smoke; He gave it its shape in two days after the creation of the earth. Then, He spread the earth, bringing therefrom its waters, rivers, trees and seas. This proves that the creation took place in two phases; in the first phase, Allah created the earth, and then, He created the mountains and rivers.”
