Scholars like Ibn ‘Aashoor reflected on how Allah created the earth first, then the heavens, and later spread the earth. Modern geology echoes this idea: the earth began as a blazing sphere, cooled over ages, cracked into plates, and rose into mountains. What takes nature millions of years can occur instantly by Allah’s command — “Be,” and it is.

This harmony between revelation and creation deepens our appreciation for Allah’s wisdom.

☀️🌙✨ Cosmic Obedience and Divine Sovereignty 

The Sun, Moon, and Stars — though massive, ancient, and awe‑inspiring — are humble servants of Allah. They move with precision, never disobeying His decree. The Prophet (PBUH) reminded us that these celestial bodies are signs, not tools for superstition or prediction.

Their purpose is to guide, illuminate, and remind us of the One who created them.

SPREADING THE EARTH WITH ITS NECESSITIES UPON CREATION

In line with modern scientific knowledge, the Quran depicted mountains as having deep, root-like systems that stabilize the Earth’s crust. Taking into account the historical timeline, this vision is quite extraordinary.

🏔️ Mountains: The Hidden Pillars of the Earth

Modern geology has uncovered a secret that the Qur’an mentioned 1400 years ago: mountains are not just towering peaks; they have deep, root-like foundations that anchor and stabilize the Earth’s crust.

Earth sciences now reveal:

• Mountains extend far beneath the surface, sometimes deeper than their visible height.
• These roots act like stakes, stabilizing the shifting tectonic plates.
• Since the late 1960s, scientists have recognized mountains as crust stabilizers, echoing the Qur’anic description.

The Qur’an’s portrayal of mountains as stabilizers is not poetic metaphor—it aligns with the very mechanics of plate tectonics. What modern science discovered in the 19th and 20th centuries was already hinted at in revelation.

Mountains are part of Allah’s design to “spread the earth” with everything needed for life: stability, balance, and protection.

🌧️ Rain: The Breath of Life for Dead Lands 

 The very first words of the Quran, concerning sources of sustenance, are:

 الْحَمْدُ للّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ “Alhamdu Lillahi Rabbil ‘Aalemeen”; this signifies that nourishment provided by Allah is available to everyone.    

Allah, the central figure in Islam, is believed to have provided sustenance for all living beings on Earth. This belief is based on the teachings of the Quran and Hadith, which describe Allah’s care and compassion for his creation. According to Islamic tradition, Allah provides food, shelter, and other basic needs to sustain life, and human beings are required to give thanks for the blessings they receive.

The arid or dry regions that were once thought to be lifeless due to the lack of rain and the harsh environmental conditions have been magically brought back to life by the divine power of Allah. The land, which had been dormant and barren, had been transformed into a lush and fertile paradise with the help of Allah’s rain. The rain brought life to the land, allowing the previously dead plants to sprout and flourish, and bringing about a new era of growth and abundance. The grace of Allah made it possible for the desert to become a blooming and beautiful oasis.

. In the dead earth, there is a sign for them: we give it life by harvesting grain for them to eat. The dead ground that We have revived and from which We have produced food that they eat serves as a sign for them.

Are you unaware that Allah creates the clouds, unites them, and then arranges them into a mound? The rain then appears to be emerging from among them(.Ya-SeenSurah, Ayah 36:33)

We send down pure water from heaven to revive a dead land  back to life and give drink for a great number of the creatures and humans that We have created. (Qur’an 25:48–49)

These showers provide seeds and plants on the surface of the soil with significant amounts of the elements and mineral salts necessary for growth. The phrase “And We sent down blessed water from the sky and made gardens grow by it and grain for harvesting” appears in the Qur’an. (Qaf 50:9)

Are you not aware that We create a variety of colored fruits as a result of Allah sending down rain from the sky? – Quran, Surah 26

وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ نَبَاتَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهُ خَضِرًا نُخْرِجُ مِنْهُ حَبًّا مُتَرَاكِبًا وَمِنَ النَّخْلِ مِنْ طَلْعِهَا قِنْوَانٌ دَانِيَةٌ وَجَنَّاتٍ مِنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَالزَّيْتُونَ وَالرُّمَّانَ مُشْتَبِهًا وَغَيْرَ مُتَشَابِهٍ ۗ انْظُرُوا إِلَىٰ ثَمَرِهِ إِذَا أَثْمَرَ وَيَنْعِهِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكُمْ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ.

It is we who pour down water from the clouds and then we bring forth every kind of vegetation, then we bring forth green foliage from which we produce clustered grain. And we bring forth) from the date-palm out of its spathes bunches (of dates) hanging low  and (We bring forth) gardens of vines and olives and pomegranate – similar (in kind) yet dissimilar (from one another in variety). Look at them when they bear fruit and look also how they ripen. Verily, in all this, there are signs for  a people who would believe. Al-An’am – The Cattle – 6:99; (Sura: 6, Verse: 99)

In one verse Allah, Most High, says: “Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and we produce therewith fruits of various colours.” (Surah Fatir: 87)

“And He sent down rain from the sky and brought forth fruits as provision for you,”  Allah states further  (Surah Baqarah: 22)

🍇 Fruits: A Symphony of Colors, Flavors, and Mercy 

Every fruit is a masterpiece:

• Different colors
• Different tastes
• Different seasons
• Different benefits

Allah designed fruits to nourish, heal, and delight us. Summer fruits cool and hydrate; winter fruits strengthen and warm. This diversity is not random—it is intentional, crafted for human well-being.

“Allah sends the winds that stir up clouds and then He spreads them in the sky as He pleases and splits them into different fragments, whereafter you see drops of rain pouring down from them. He then causes the rain to fall on whomever of His servants He pleases, and  they rejoice at it, although before that they were given to despair.

Thus, see the signs of Allah’s mercy, such as how He brings life to the lifeless earth. He truly is the one who will bring the dead back to life. He is in charge of everything. ( Surah Ar Rum: 48–52).

The Qur’an invites us to look closely at fruits as they grow and ripen, because within them are signs for those who reflect.

🌍 The Earth Spread Out with Provision

Allah describes how He:

• Spread out the earth
• Brought forth water and pasture
• Fixed mountains firmly
• Created fruits as provision
• Sent winds to gather clouds
• Revived dead lands with rain

All of this is sustenance, a divine system designed for humans and animals alike.

The very first words of the Qur’an—Alhamdu lillahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen—remind us that Allah provides for every creature, without exception.

🌿 A Living Earth, A Living Sign

When rain falls, when mountains stand firm, when fruits ripen, when deserts bloom—these are not ordinary events. They are messages, calling us to gratitude and reflection.

Allah asks:

“Did you look carefully at the water you drink?

Is it you who sent it down from the clouds, or We?”

(Qur’an 56:68–70)

Every drop, every seed, every mountain root is a reminder of His mercy.

We also sent down blessed water from heaven, wherewith We caused gardens and harvest-grain to grow, and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered spathes; all this as sustenance for Our servants. And thus We do bring the dead land back to life with water. Such shall be the coming forth (of human beings from the earth.” ( Qaaf: 9-11)

“And thereafter spread out the earth, and brought out of it its water and its pasture, and firmly fixed in its mountains; all this as provision for you and your cattle.” ( An Naziaat: 30-33)

“Did you cast a good look at the water that you drink? Is it you who brought it down from the clouds or is it We Who brought it down? If we had been so pleased, we could have made it bitter. So why would you not give thanks?” ( Al Waqi’ah: 68-70)

 🌊 The Importance of Rivers for the Earth

Water is woven into every corner of life. It fills oceans, hides beneath the soil, freezes into majestic polar ice, and flows through rivers that nourish the land. Every human, animal, and plant depends on it. Without water, the earth would be silent and lifeless.

Allah created a world where water is abundant and perfectly balanced. Gravity keeps oceans in place, rivers flowing, and underground aquifers filled. Scientists estimate that the earth holds around 350 million cubic kilometers of water—a vast reservoir designed with precision.

• 97% lies in the oceans, covering two‑thirds of the planet.
• 90% of the remaining water is locked in ice at the poles.
• Only 1% is accessible for drinking, farming, and daily use—mostly stored in underground aquifers.

Even our own bodies testify to this miracle: water makes up nearly 70% of the human body, carrying oxygen and nutrients to every cell.

🌍 Creation of Oceans and Rivers: Signs of Divine Power

Among the greatest signs of Allah’s might are the oceans and rivers. They are not just natural features—they are gifts, provisions, and pathways for human benefit.

Through oceans:

• People sail to seek sustenance.
• Fresh fish become food for millions.
• Pearls and precious gems are formed deep within.
• Ships glide across the surface like mountains, moved only by the wind Allah commands.

Allah says:

“And among His signs are the ships that sail through the sea like mountains.”(Ash‑Shu‘arā 32–33)

“Do you not see that ships sail through the sea by Allah’s favor, so He may show you His signs?”(Luqmān 31)

“And He is the One who has subjected the sea for you, so that you may eat from it fresh meat, and extract from it ornaments you wear.”(An‑Naḥl 14)

These verses remind us that the sea is not chaotic—it is controlled, subdued, and made beneficial by Allah’s command.

🏞️ Rivers: Beauty, Purity, and Life

Rivers and oceans beautify the earth. Without rivers, the world would feel barren and dry. Rivers cleanse the land, carry away impurities, and keep the air fresh. They water crops, feed animals, and sustain entire civilizations.

It is no surprise that when Allah describes Paradise, He often mentions rivers flowing beneath it. Rivers symbolize life, peace, and eternal comfort.

 With rivers and oceans, the air becomes clean and not polluted by animal carcasses. That is why the Prophet saw said when asked about the carcasses of sea fish, said, “ It (sea water) is pure water and its (animal) carcasses are halal.

🌿 A World Sustained by Water

From the smallest seed to the largest mountain, everything depends on water. Rivers carve valleys, nourish forests, and bring life to deserts. Oceans regulate climate, produce clouds, and maintain the balance of the earth.

Water is a mercy that Allah spread across the planet with wisdom and purpose.

🌬️ Creation of Wind: A Sign of Allah’s Power

Wind is one of the most subtle yet powerful creations of Allah. Air surrounds the earth like a protective garment, giving life to humans, animals, birds, fish, and even insects. When this air moves, it becomes wind — a force Allah directs with wisdom.

Sometimes He sends wind as mercy, carrying clouds, spreading seeds, cooling the earth. And sometimes He sends it as punishment, capable of destruction and devastation. Every breeze, every storm, every gust is under His command.

☁️ Creation of Clouds, Thunder, Lightning, and Thunderbolts

Clouds are among the most magnificent signs of Allah’s design. The Qur’an describes their types and functions:

• Light clouds that shade the earth from heat
• Cumulus clouds that rise like mountains and bring rain
• Heavy clouds that produce hail
• Storm clouds from which lightning and thunder emerge

Thunder is the sound of Allah’s power. Lightning is a flash of His command. Thunderbolts are warnings and reminders.

All of these operate under precise laws created by Allah — never random, never chaotic.

🌱 Creation of Trees and Plants

After Allah spread out the earth, He adorned it with trees, plants, and vegetation of every kind — grass, grains, dates, olives, pomegranates, and fragrant herbs. These are sustenance, beauty, and comfort for mankind and animals.

Surah ‘Abasa (verses 24–32) beautifully describes how plants emerge from the earth in stages, each type created with purpose.

Allah says:

“And it is He who sends down water from the sky, and We produce thereby vegetation of all kinds…

From the palm trees come clusters hanging low…And gardens of grapevines, olives, and pomegranates — similar yet dissimilar.Look at its fruit when it bears fruit and ripens.” Every leaf, every seed, every fruit is a sign of His mercy.

🌳 Creation of Shadows

Shade is a blessing — a protection from the sun and a natural clock for measuring time. Allah says:

“And Allah has made for you, from what He has created, shades.”(Surah An‑Nahl, 81)

 The construction of the universe in this order, and the coordination of the solar system in this manner, is what made the shadow move. If this order differed slightly, this would be reflected in the shadow.

 If the Earth were stationary, the shadow would remain above it, neither extending nor contracting.

The creation of the universe is beyond human or jinn perception. No scientist can witness its beginning; they can only theorize. The only absolute truth comes from the Qur’an.

Our role is submission — to accept what Allah has revealed, to contemplate His verses, and to let them deepen our faith and awe.

Every wind, cloud, tree, shadow, and fruit is a sign pointing back to Him.

Livestock and the Wonders of Allah’s Animal Creation

The world is filled with an astonishing variety of animals — each one crafted with purpose, wisdom, and balance. From the tiniest ant to the towering elephant, every creature plays a role in maintaining the harmony of life on earth of life on earth

🌍 A Wide Variety of Animals

Allah’s creation is vast and diverse. Every species — whether it crawls, swims, flies, or walks — contributes to the delicate ecosystem that sustains life.

Some animals pollinate plants, others clean the environment, some provide food, and others offer companionship. Even the smallest insect has a function in Allah’s grand design.

Both Harmful and Beneficial Creatures

Allah, in His perfect wisdom, created both helpful and harmful organisms. Some animals protect and benefit humans, while others may pose danger. Yet each one has a purpose in the balance of nature.

The Qur’an reminds us:

“Allah has created every animal from water. Of them are some that creep on their bellies, some that walk on two legs, and some that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills, for truly Allah has power over all things.”

(Surah An‑Nur 24:45)

This verse beautifully aligns with modern scientific understanding: life began in water, and water remains the foundation of all living beings.

Allah also says:

“We made from water every living thing.”(Surah Al‑Anbiya 21:30)

🐪 Livestock: A Blessing for Humanity

Livestock — such as camels, cows, goats, and sheep — are among the greatest blessings Allah has given mankind. They provide:

• Food
• Clothing
• Transportation
• Labor
• Companionship

Their existence supports human life in countless ways, especially in regions like the Arabian Peninsula where camels and goats have sustained communities for centuries.
